With degrees in Graphic Design and lllustration from Miami University-Ohio and two decades of design experience, it’s not surprising that Doug Moss is one of the region’s most award-winning artists. But his talent to visualize, along with his ability to write and to think strategically, set him apart as one of the region’s top creative directors. His vision to combine exceptional design with creative communication was the beginning of Insight Marketing Design.
Under Doug’s leadership, Insight has become one of the Midwest’s most recognized advertising agencies, winning awards–and clients—on a regional and national level. As Creative Director, he manages a team of outstanding artists and writers, and brings his vision to all work produced at Insight.
Doug’s other passion is illustrating children’s books. Santa’s Prayer was published in 2009, and his most recent book, Nick and the Shrinking Inner Spaceship was published in 2011.
Candy Van Dam brings years of broadcast and agency experience to Insight. She started her career on the client side working in health care marketing in Minneapolis.
After moving back to her hometown of Sioux Falls, SD, she worked at local television stations and a couple of ad agencies. In 2003, Candy founded Insight Marketing Design with the promise of offering top-shelf creative services.
Through the years Candy’s clients have run the gamut – from small non-profit clients like the SD Voices for Children and Habitat for Humanity-South Dakota to national brands like Kodak and American Coalition for Ethanol. All of her clients are treated with equal respect and attention.
When Candy’s not working (which isn’t very often) she volunteers on several boards, is an avid reader and a fanatic dog lover.
Daring, creative executions married to smart, strategic approaches has been a hallmark of Jon’s career. A graduate of Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA, Jon Carroll has worked with local, regional and international clients including SubWay Restaurants, Abbott Nutrition and Universal Studios Florida.
Jon also offers a wealth of medical marketing experience in both the direct-to-consumer and direct-to-physician areas.
As both a Copywriter and Creative Director, he has won local, regional, national and international industry awards, while working in a variety of markets including Boston, MA, Birmingham, AL, and Daytona Beach, FL.
When Jon is not creating breakthrough communication programs for clients he attempts to breakthrough the communication barrier with his four children.
Whether he’s designing a logo or creating Flash files for an interactive project, Ben Hodgins brings a unique perspective to his projects. Ben’s early career included stints at two Midwest ad agencies before he moved to the client side to work in health care marketing for five years.
He joined Insight in 2005 and almost immediately found a new love for interactive design. As Art Director at Insight, Ben works with clients to develop brand identities and online promotional campaigns. His mellow disposition and witty remarks charm co-workers and clients alike.
Among his client “wish list” was a certain outreach church in downtown Chicago. Under Ben’s direction, Insight recently provided re-branding for Chicagoland Community Church.
