The Web Developer role is responsible for programming brand new websites as well as modifying and supporting current client sites. We strive to create visually appealing, responsive, cross-browser compatible websites that feature user-friendly designs and clear navigation. Developers work closely with the design team to bring online concepts to life.
Responsibilities:
This position works closely with our design and account services teams to define, develop and execute web-based projects. Our developers are not simply order-takers, we expect them to bring their own creative input to each project and make suggestions regarding new techniques, technology and what we call whiz-bang; the small micro-interactions such as rollover effects and animation that bring a website from good, to great.
Our Web Development team takes a website from provided static designs into a live and functioning website, and ideal candidates need to have a strong understanding of integrating content management systems.
Mobile-first, responsive development practices are critical, as well as a willingness to help troubleshoot various issues with clients and browsers.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of current web development experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- An understanding of the latest web trends and their role in a commercial environment, and the desire to keep up-to-date with fast-changing trends
- Teamwork skills, because most projects require input from individuals with different roles
- Understanding of ADA web accessibility and security compliance
- Killer front-end development skills (HTML, CSS / SCSS, Javascript, etc)
- Familiarity with back-end technologies like PHP and mySQL databases
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Experience working with content management systems (Expression Engine, WordPress, Concrete, etc.)
