An on-campus sculpture was the inspiration for a new logo and identity materials intended to portray a more contemporary look and attitude for the two-year community college. Education recruitment materials position the school as a cutting-edge tech school that prepares students for a global world.
“Epic Story” Campaign
From flying thousands of feet above the ground to pushing the edge of robotic technology and saving lives, Lake Area Technical Institute offers the best way to begin an amazing career. Insight took this opportunity to let potential students know they didn’t have to accept boring with the new positioning line “Make Your Story Epic.” This line is reflected in the passion and excitement that can be found throughout campus and in all of Lake Area Tech’s marketing material.
Television, Broadcast Production & Script Writing
This series of television commercials capture the amazing career opportunities that exist for people with the right training. Shot using actual students these 30-second TV spots feel like a movie trailer while also sharing important information and successfully recruiting new students to the college.

This view book was designed to be an exciting and eye-catching way to show what Lake Area Tech is all about. Featuring the latest in printing and ink technology and dramatic design it answers the question, how to “Make Your Story Epic”?
“Bright Future” Campaign
Lake Area Tech’s “Bright Future” campaign began with an on-campus photo shoot, capturing images of students, programs, instructors and iconic locations on campus. The photos were the centerpiece of the 2018 view book, direct mail and collateral pieces. The view book utilized students wearing sunglasses to highlight the “bright future” concept. The cover page of the view book featured actual, tinted lenses to reinforce the campaign concept.
Workforce Diversity Magazine Ad
Lake Area Tech’s Workforce Diversity ad ran in a 2018 issue of Delta Airlines’ Sky Magazine, which focused on America’s changing workforce. Insight created an ad using original photography and actual Lake Area Tech students with the message that Lake Area Tech is training tomorrow’s workforce today.

The 2017 recruitment campaign viewbook includes special treatments such as spot pearlescent UV ink, embossed logo and rubber band binding. Combined, these all make it very eye-catching to prospective Lake Area Tech students.

This dramatic digital display ad helped introduce Lake Area Technical Institute’s new “Make Your Story Epic” tagline. Naturally we made the ad as epic as the new positioning line.

Insight created these digital display ads to catch the eyes of potential students with lofty career goals. Targeted messaging and online media placement has helped Lake Area Tech’s building trades and aviation program, really take off.
“Be Unstoppable” Superheros
Insight’s executive creative director Doug Moss created original illustrations positioned Lake Area Tech programs as iconic superheroes. These illustrations were used on a 3D direct mail project and were also made into “larger than life” stand-ups that are used at events and throughout campus.
“Hear Us Roar” Magazine Ad
When USA Today contacted the school regarding a “Women in Skilled Professions” special issue, Lake Area Tech asked Insight to create an ad for the special issue. The “Hear Us Roar” ad, targeted at businesses and HR professionals, told the story.
