Insights:Insight Cares Donations – Candy

Chief Strategy Officer Candy Van Dam selected our next organization, SFACF Promising Futures Fund, to receive a $100 “Insight Cares” 18th anniversary donation on her behalf.

“The Summer Success Reading Project, which will provide three books each for nearly 3,000 kids to keep them reading through the summer months. Every Principal will tell you how much they worry about “summer slide” – the loss of reading skills while kids are on summer vacation. Last summer, the Promising Futures Fund provided one book for nearly 5,000 elementary kids. This year, they want to provide three books for nearly 3,000 kids – all from schools with the highest rates of poverty. Depending upon the books chosen, it will likely cost nearly $75,000. Keeping kids reading over the summer is worth the $75,000. But they need our help.”
